Pixel 275 II System

Designed on a gyro-stabilized platform, the Pixel 275 II is a highly capable airborne surveillance system. It consists of a visible light three-chip camera (Sony DCR-VX1000) mounted in a gyro and inertially-stabilized turret. The Sony is a high-resolution color video camera with a high power zoom lens. The Pixel 275 II is equipped with an external GPS unit, and an interface unit which is hand-held and includes a monitor, joystick, and system controls. This allows the operator to manipulate the display as well as control the turret that has a 360^o degree range of motion. The video monitor is capable of displaying time, latitude and longitude. The system has Super Steadyshot^TM picture stabilization that reduces shake without compromising picture quality using a motion sensing system with Variable Prism technology. This system is mounted on the belly of a Bell 206 Jet Ranger that allows for slow and low flights.
